Tempted with promises of power during a particularly harrowing murder investigation that taxed his reserves and threatened his flawless record of closed cases, Reginald lost his soul to the Darkness and became a slave to its power. Leaving England, he journeyed to the US, where his target became the heir to the Fraternity himself.
Then, in the unlikeliest of scenarios, among a people born to make miracles...an even greater miracle occurred.
In a battle with two avatars, Reginald fell, but before he could be killed, he was cleansed by the purity of the power he stood against. Saved by hope, Reginald regained his freewill though his soul was destroyed by the power of the Darkness. With no ability to feel or to truly give his loyalty to the Fraternity, or anyone for that matter, Reginald continues to surprise as he remains in the care of the Fraternity and serves their needs with gusto. Considered by many to be their greatest weapon because he has no soul for the other side to claim and a strange sort of loyalty to the children of Pandora, he is looked after by the Fraternity due to his amoral nature and is often charged with the protection and defense of their most valuable assets.
